screen capturing

i first learned about screen capturing a few years ago in my intro to graphic design class and was excited after i purchased my apple laptop to be able to do it. however, the last few times i have tried it appeared to not work, and then work sometimes. today in my digital photography class it was brought up and i asked this kid next to me to help me and with his help i finally figured out how to do it and what i was doing wrong. so i am very excited about this! for those of you who dont know what screen capturing is, its like a little camera that takes a picture of anywhere you want on your computer screen. so if there is an image that you want but it wont let you download or save it onto your computer, you can just screen capture it! like so,



the commands for an apple are
apple shift 4 will save it to your desktop
apple ctrl shift 4 will allow you to paste it somewhere
apple ctrl shift 4 spacebar will allow you to take a picture of any whole window that is open
hold down all those keys at the same time then a new icon will come up in place of the mouse, to know it worked it should make a shutter sound(it sounds like it took a picture)
