4th of july

our plan was to go to down to salt lake this weekend for the 4th of july, but we decided the day of to stay in rexburg. on friday morning, taylor came over and him, julene and i walked to the grocery store to buy our food for the day. the reason we walked was because there was a 4th of july parade going on main street and in order to cross over the parade we had to walk. then we picked up jordan and headed to my apt where we made the sandwiches and got our other food ready. then we were off to Palisades Dam which was about an hour drive. we decided to picnic up in the mountains by the dam and so we set out to find a woodsy area where we would be for the next few hours. we found a great little spot, covered in mosquitos of course, but we ate our delicious lunch, goofed off then explored the area. ps i was afraid a bear was going to come so when jordan prayed over our meal i made him pray that bears wouldn't come. then after we explored we went back down to the water and enjoyed the marvelous sight. then i had a craving for a strawberry milkshake so we headed out to this little diner we saw on our way to the dam, and stopped and had a great time being the only ones in the diner. after that we headed to idaho falls, went to target and then went looking for a parking spot so we could join the other millions of people watching the firework show that night. THEN after the fireworks we went back to the car to find a majorly flat tire. we had everything we needed for the tire change, but in the process of getting one of the nuts off it became stripped so we(and when i say we i mean the boys) couldnt get the tire off. jordan tried forEVER to get the nut off. nothing. so we decided to pray and literally right after we said amen a boy walked up and asked if we needed help, long story short and an hour later with the help of that boy that came over we were on the road again. THEN after going only 35 miles an hour on the highway the spare tire became flat so about 45 min after that we were back in rexburg at 3am and just a little late for curfew. but it was an adventure and a very long and great day!

when we first got to the dam julene and i were the first out of the car and started heading over to the water and the boys took off in the car, so we hid in the rocks from them, but when they came back they handed us each a wild rose flower. it spelt amazing!

this is the view, from where we ate, i saw when i looked up. so pretty.

jordan put flowers in my hair
another amazing view we found while exploring
the dead end sign we passed when coming to our picnic spot

the marvelous sight i was referring to

the sweet purple ghetto limo we found right outside the dam store

i love the dam store.
inside the dam store, jordan was writing me a love note with the videos

eating our delicious milkshakes at this awesome diner that was built in 1969. im not gonna lie my strawberry milkshake tasted mostly like jam. hmm. i hate that. but it was still good.
this is the next day when we came to put a real new tire on so we could remove the car from off the highway
