it's the most wonderful time of the year

i had my first pieces of Halloween candy today at work. that is kinda a big deal.

there are two things almost above all others that i am convinced of of myself and i am forewarning you as my reader that these may appear random and not so much two things that relate.

1} is that im convinced i was meant to live in the countryside of the 19th century preferbly in England. in the slow and simple times. where i would be drawing, in a field of overflowing flowers, while watching the ships come in and out. the long sinuous dresses i would have; the ones that i get dirty in the day and the elegant ones saved for the soirees at night. i just know i would be ruff and adventurous during the day then elegant and proper at night. NOT to mention that darling cottage i would live in.

if only if only....

2} more importantly and not so much as a convincing but an overwhelming love and passion i have for fall…as in the season. as i reflect on fond memories they always seem to take place in the fall. i can still remember the book in 6th grade i wrote and illustrated on spiders, in kindergarten carving pumpkins then baking the seeds, stepping on leaves at recess just so i could hear them crunch, and still do, day dreaming out the window while watching the trees change colors, dressing up for Halloween and bringing cupcakes with orange frosting to school. for years, going to The Farm to not only pick pumpkins, but feel the engulfing atmosphere of fall that fills all 5 senses. i see a picture of fall, or go to a store with fall décor, or simply walk outside in the brisk air and it makes me excited. it's not only fall, but the fact that fall means Halloween it means Thanksgiving it means Christmas. it means scarves, cider, hot cocoa, sweaters, warm jackets, hype, family, food, lights, the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon, shopping, music, cheer, giving, love and creating new traditions.

I love Fall as well... BUT that fact that they are selling Halloween candy scares me a little bit...halloween is my due date and I am SO not ready for this little baby to be here! Other than that I am also very excited for this time of year.

p.s. I think I could imagine you wearing old english dresses and watching the ships! :)

Did you take that picture? It is pretty much incredible. I love the girls hands and facial expression. And the trees behind her and leaves under her. Okay. I love everything about it.

And you got me really excited for Fall again!

I love Fall too. It is my favorite time of year. The only bad thing is, is that we don't have fall in Phoenix. And that makes me very sad. What makes me sadder is that I am trying to stay away from Halloween candy this year. I wonder if I can do it?

I love fall, and I love how you describe fall, it's like a dream with pictures weaving in and out. This made me smile and remember my own memories:)
