Mates of State
Mates of State is a favorite band of mine. I mentioned in an earlier post I had tickets to go alone to their concert. I needed to be brave and I was. I was nervous to go and do this alone. Where do I park? How do I not look attackable? When purchasing my ticket online did I have them sent to me and forgot or did I click willcall? Will I be okay standing alone by myself? Will I be able to walk back safely to my car alone late at night? These were questions I asked myself over and over for the few hours before the concert. So of course freaking myself out a bit, not gonna lie. However, everything worked out just fine and thanks to Stephanie, Kaitlin and my dad for talking to me on the phone while I walked a few blocks in Seattle to and from the venue. Luckily, where I was standing was perfect and when they came out, oh was I happy. I have been reading their blog for about a year now, maybe longer so it was a bit surreal to actually see them in person. I was only able to stay for about half their set(they didnt come on till 1145pm and didnt want to walk back to the car too late, and I had to be up at 5am to leave back to Rexburg the next morning) but I accomplished one of my goals in life which was just going to their concert and I did that. I am happy.
