lately, a friend of mine has taught me much on the subject and opened my eyes/ears to music i would deem not worthy of my listening/or just i am naive of. he has challenged/recommended to me that i give Soul a real try. in the past, aretha or the like was not my cup of tea. but, to be true to my belief that people should be open to genres out of their comfort, i took on that challenge.
i dare say i am beginning to enjoy it and feel the soul behind the soul.
dear aretha, who would have thought i would chose to listen to you.
dear amy winehouse, though you seem a bit sketchy, you have some great music.
dear sharon jones, work it girl.
