...mmm

visual art is not the only aesthetically pleasing medium. there is also music, the art of sound, which we should all know i have a mad crush on. i have decided to be super cliche and have monica's music monday(mmm). doesn't mean i am only going to limit my music findings to mondays, but you can be sure to come to my blog every monday and find some new band i have found or new singer to love or hate. i am aware not everyone is as loyal to music as i, so i wont be offended if mmm is just for me, however i feel that you should give whatever/whoever i recommend a try. also, if you have anyone that you think i should know about let me know!! does anyone else feel like the last few years music has flourished increasingly?...or maybe it was just in these last few years i started to care about music...

you may have already heard of Sondre Lerche, a Norwegian composer and musician. he is the artist behind the sound on Dan in Real Life. he has a fresh, simplistic, soundtrack to your roadtrip, loose, cafe preformance kinda sound. 
also the seattle indie band called Smoosh, the band orginally consisted of 2 sisters and when they released, in 2004, their first cd the drummer was 10 and the keyboard/singer was 12 years old and now a few years later their younger sister plays guitar with them. they write their music and lyrics to these original songs and the drummer learned how to play from her drum teacher who is now the drummer for Death Cab for Cutie. im pretty sure they are the coolest teenagers and what a great band for current teenagers to learn indie rock music from. even if you dont like them you gotta give these girls credit for not only their music, but their unique style.
